Wash Yourselves Clean! Put away your misdeeds from before my eyes; cease doing evil; learn to do good. Make justice your aim: redress the wronged, hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow!

Hear the word of the LORD,
princes of Sodom!
Listen to the instruction of our God,
people of Gomorrah!
What care I for the number of your sacrifices?
says the LORD.
I have had enough of whole-burnt rams
and fat of fatlings;
In the blood of calves, lambs and goats
I find no pleasure.
When you come in to visit me,
who asks these things of you?
Trample my courts no more!
Bring no more worthless offerings;
your incense is loathsome to me.
New moon and sabbath, calling of assemblies,
octaves with wickedness: these I cannot bear.
Your new moons and festivals I detest;
they weigh me down, I tire of the load.
When you spread out your hands,
I close my eyes to you;
Though you pray the more,
I will not listen.
Your hands are full of blood!
Wash yourselves clean!
Put away your misdeeds from before my eyes;
cease doing evil; learn to do good.
Make justice your aim: redress the wronged,
hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow.

~Isaiah 1:10-17

God wants us to stop sinning! He said, "Wash yourselves clean! Put away your misdeeds from before my eyes; cease doing evil; learn to do good. Make justice your aim: redress the wronged, hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow." I love the readings in the Book of Isaiah! He is the best prophet, all came true in the New Testament! What a blessing! God does not want us to sin! He does not want to hear from us if we sin. Today even Rabbi Schneider spoke about this related to praying for others, he said often people want you to pray for them, but for things of this world. Instead we should pray for His will be done and pray for their conversion and an end to their sinning. So often sin is what causes so many problems in this world. Sin hurts us as a whole in society, whether it is killing innocent babies, stealing, committing fraud, being corrupt, taking bribes, doing so much evil and sin, God does not like this, He wants us to turn from sin! It is very clear in this Bible verse in Isaiah, my favorite Book, we all need to turn from sin!  Like God said in Isaiah, "Put away your misdeeds from before my eyes; cease doing evil; learn to do good. Make justice your aim: redress the wronged, hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow!" Why is it so hard to stop sinning? Selfishness? Greed? Apathy? Whatever the reason, we all need to take sin more seriously on this Earth School, we need to turn from all sin and obey God, follow the teachings of Jesus, and be people of goodwill!

Repent, stop sinning, turn to Jesus!
