The Best is Yet to Come: The best ever lies before us if we are truly following Christ!

I press toward... the prize.

~Philippians 3:14

We always need to remember that the best is always yet to come; The best ever lies before us if we are truly following Jesus Christ in this Earth School journey! It is so so true! We often think when we retire, that is it, but it is not! We still have so much more to do, and we always need to remember that our number one priority in life is spending eternity in Heaven with Jesus, and we have a mission, a discipleship, work to do in getting there, it is not always easy, with many mountains to climb, many challenges, but the best is yet to come when we have faith in Jesus! We need to remember what the prize is, it is Jesus in Heaven.

The Mornings with God App today said, "The best ever lies before us if we are truly following Christ.  Life is a mountain climb, and we never get to the summit in this world. Paul tells us that he has not yet reached the end of his race. But he is pressing on with inexhaustible energy and enthusiasm. He forgets the things, which are behind. Some people live altogether in their past. They tell you over and over of the great things they have done. Paul had done a great many brave and noble things, but he forgot them all, never talked about them, did not take time to record them – he was so eager to get on and to attain loftier heights, to do greater things, to win greater victories. Before him lay the goal with the prize of life, and to this he pressed continually. It is a noble picture, this old apostle, at an age when many men are talking about “the dead line,” still reaching forward and holding eyes fixed on the real goal of his life far ahead. We ought not to lose the lesson."

We as humans need to be careful not to live for the past or the present, but focus on the future and tell ourselves the best is yet to come! I know as I plan to retire soon, I think that this is it, I do not need to work or do anything else, but I know now after reading this message from the Mornings with God today, I still have so much more to do. I am grateful and blessed. I have had a blessed career for 38 years as an educator with great students and many accomplishments, but I still have so much more to do, I still have a few more books in me and I know that God wants me to do this blog and share the hope, blessings, grace, and miracles from God with all His people. We need to put Jesus first, He is the light, the truth, and the way to God, to Heaven, to an eternity with them. That is our ultimate goal, our prize is Jesus in Heaven, the best is yet to come and we need to press on. While I have had my share of challenges growing up, going to school and college, taking tests, becoming a teacher and professor, there has been a lot of work, sometimes, some hardship and disappointment, but I have seen great success, what a blessing! I am grateful to God for all! My faith has brought so much peace to my life! St. Paul is right, we need to stay joyful, look to Jesus, and our ultimate goal of Heaven. We need to press on to victory! We need to stay loving, positive, and joyful in the Lord and know that the best is yet to come in Christ!
