Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life!
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
~Proverbs 4:23
We decide as humans our own joy or misery. Today I see many who are so negative, so hateful, so miserable. They incarcerate themselves with their own hate and negative thinking. They get consumed by things of this world, our government, elected, the media, and all the sin and evil that is about us. We as humans need to stop letting things of this world bring us down. We need to be positive, loving, and joyful in the Lord. We need to seek Jesus, follow, reflect, and imitate Him. We need to know that we are not of this world. When we follow Jesus, we are promised life eternal in Heaven with Him.
The Mornings With God App said today, "Each of us carries within ourselves the seeds of our own happiness or misery. It’s our hearts that color the sky and shape the music we hear in life. A heart that is well-kept brings peace and joy; a badly kept heart causes pain and turmoil. Norman McLeod once said, “Nothing makes a person so content as a life lived carefully from the start.” To ensure full happiness, we must live in such a way that no day will leave a memory that brings us shame or regret in the future. The time to secure a “well-watched past” is while we’re young and our early days are passing by. We can’t change the past. A life lived without God and holiness will yield a harvest of misery in old age. But a life of obedience, faithfulness, purity, and selfless service will make our old age like a garden full of fruit and flowers.
Sin often causes shame and regret. We need to stay away from sin. We need to stay away from hate, negativity, and living miserable lives. God wants more for us than this! He wants us to be at peace, to be filled with joy, to know about His promise and how our future can be with Him! Above reminds us, "A life lived without God and holiness will yield a harvest of misery in old age." This is so true. I see some people today like this, instead of being grateful. Instead of living with the joy of Jesus, praying, and counting our blessings, thinking of others, some fall into the self-pity mode, then become hateful, negative, and miserable. They make it all about them, instead of counting their blessings, praying for others, and living for God and seeking His peace and love. We need to keep our hearts focused on the Lord always!
