God give us strength in the times we live in of social media, reviews, and reacting to all!
The Lord stood by me and gave me strength,
so that through me the proclamation might be completed
and all the Gentiles might hear it.
And I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.
The Lord will rescue me from every evil threat
and will bring me safe to his heavenly Kingdom.
To him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
~2 Timothy 4:17-18
God give us strength in the times we live in of social media, reviews, and reacting to all! So many today want to be liked and to get likes, do reviews, get 5 stars, put things on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, etc. Doing reviews of all is a big thing, all want only positive, if you do anything negative or address the mediocrity, hate, and weakness, you are castigated from society almost, cancelled or criticized. I never have done most social media, never done Facebook, or any other social media to seek likes, followers, and be an influencer. It is not my interest or calling at all. I always felt like it is for insecure people, I just do not need that attention. One thing I have noticed over the years is the push for many businesses always wanting you to do reviews of all, when you buy something, go somewhere, do anything, they want you to review it. Often we make a mistake to do so, especially when we have had a bad experience or the product was not good, or the stay, or service, etc. I have done reviews for years, but lately I feel it is best not to do them anymore. When you are truthful, when you are critical, or when you are just honest in what you say, you are threatened by the one being reviewed for defamation or have to live in fear of retaliation. I do not think this is good now. Perhaps it is not Christ-like neither and best to leave all unsaid, sometimes less words speak volumes. You just do not go back, use their services or products, go there anymore. That is it, without writing about it or doing a review. It is risky today, many do not want truth and honesty. Many do not want judgement, criticism, or a true review. So maybe it is best not to offer or give it, it is safer, easier, less stressful, so to not have to worry about vengeance. In retrospect about all, I think God does not want us to do this anyway. But if we do, He is there for us. I have come to the conclusion now, it is best to write less, do fewer reviews, and not put yourself and name out there for persecution or vengeance. We need to stay clean and holy in Christ the best we can. Write less and love more, show kindness, grace, forgiveness, and mercy, be peace to all no matter what, even if you had a bad stay at a hotel or service at a restaurant. And to know, The Lord will rescue me from every evil threat and will bring me safe to his Heavenly Kingdom! Jesus gets 5 stars!
