Did you used to be somebody?
Did you used to be somebody? Many people who retire or step out from playing sports, acting, or doing an important role or career in life, like politicians, and other powers that be may feel loss when they step down or retire. I know for me I have had a fulfilling career as an educator for 38 years, 28.5 at a university as a Professor. A very highly esteemed professor where students showed great respect for you and looked for great insight and wisdom, calling you doctor or professor. I have been blessed with a wonderful long career with so many great students, teaching awards, annual evaluations, 100+ peer-reviewed publications, lots of service, even international work, just so much acclaim and accomplishments. So yes, I used to be somebody, but I am still somebody! I am a child of God, put on this Earth for a reason, I know my true calling was to learn to write in my profession so that I could be a disciple for Christ. The word disciple comes from the same word discipline, where we are called as God's children to be disciplined in following Christ, living as He did, imitating, reflecting, and loving like Him! While I had great success in my profession as an educator for so many years, I now have a new dedication, a discipleship for Christ to write about Him, to bring people to Jesus, to share of His love, miracles, and saving grace, salvation, to get into Heaven to spend life eternal with Jesus Christ! God is not done with me yet! He is not done with any of us! He has all of us here for a reason! The greatest which is to love all. God is in control of our lives. Nothing happens by accident, there are no coincidences with God. In the past recent years and beyond, we have seen persecution, like to Joseph from the Bible in Genesis, to Jesus in the New Testament, to President Trump the past few years here in the USA, many of us have had to endure persecution and hate, discrimination, and injustice, life is not easy for sure, it wasn't for Joseph, I of the same namesake, feel too like Joseph, I have had to deal with a lot of hate, unfair treatment, cancel culture, envy, jealousy, and overall, disdain from some, mostly because of insecurity and little education I think. Nonetheless, I survived my career, did the very best, accomplished so much by the grace of God and now know that God is not done with me yet, He still has great plans for me, I was lucky to retire young at 61, not I can dedicate more of my life now to Jesus, being His disciple, sharing His love with others, bringing His good news to all, sharing God's miracles, and helping to save people to get into Heaven to spend eternity there with our Lord and Savior! I am somebody still and God knows my name!
