To bless your door for Epiphany, write the code "20 + C + M + B + 26" above your entryway, where "C, M, B" stands for Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar, and also means "Christus mansionem benedicat" (May Christ bless this house). As you write, say a prayer asking for Christ's blessing on your home and all who enter.

Names of the Wise Men
The Bible does not specify the names of the Wise Men, also known as the Magi. However, tradition has attributed names to them over the centuries.

Commonly Accepted Names
Melchior: Often depicted as an older man, he is said to have brought the gift of gold.
Balthasar: Typically portrayed as a middle-aged man, he is associated with the gift of myrrh.
Gaspar (or Caspar): Usually depicted as a younger man, he is said to have presented frankincense.

Biblical Context
The Magi are mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew, where they come from the East to honor the newborn Jesus. They follow a star and present three gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The number of Wise Men is traditionally assumed to be three, based on the three gifts, but the Bible does not confirm this.

Variations in Tradition
Some early Christian sources suggest there could have been more than three Magi, with numbers ranging from two to twelve.
The idea that they were kings likely stems from interpretations of Old Testament prophecies.
These names and traditions have become part of the Christmas narrative, enriching the story of the Nativity.
