Blest are the humble souls that wait: As soon as you perceive your natural impetuosity gliding in, retire quietly within, where is the kingdom of God!

Do not be discouraged at your faults; bear with yourself in correcting them, as you would with your neighbor. Lay aside this ardor of mind, which exhausts your body, and leads you to commit errors. Accustom yourself gradually to carry prayer into all your daily occupations. Speak, move, work, in peace, as if you were in prayer, as indeed you ought to be. Do everything without excitement, by the spirit of grace. As soon as you perceive your natural impetuosity gliding in, retire quietly within, where is the kingdom of God. Listen to the leadings of grace, then say and do nothing but what the Holy Spirit shall put in your heart. You will find that you will become more tranquil, that your words will be fewer and more effectual, and that, with less effort, you will accomplish more good.

—F. De La Mothe Fenelon

Blest are the humble souls that wait
With sweet submission to His will;
Harmonious all their passions move,
And in the midst of storms are still.

—P. Doddridge

We need to remember that blessed are the humble souls that wait: As soon as you perceive your natural impetuosity gliding in, retire quietly within, where the kingdom of God is!  This is what matters! I love these two poems. We are called to be humble, calm, loving, prayerful, peaceful, and trusting in the Lord! We can do more with God than without Him! Many forget this.  I know I saw this in my jobs and career! I always had God, I trusted in Him! I tried my best to reflect Jesus and be upright and holy, it is not always easy. I know I was used and abused a lot in my life, but came out just fine, I am realistic, but have had experiences to know humans, they are different from God and Jesus, that is why we need to follow Him, not be slaves for Satan or fall for things of this world. So many sin today. They also make so many excuses for sin. Like with pushing so much abortion, some care more about saving rescue dogs over saving babies. Others make so many excuses for lawlessness like harboring and over looking illegal immigrants. Even our elected and powers that be and governments, they do so much evil, cheating, stealing, lying, and fraud, so many excuses for their sins and wickedness. We are called to humble ourselves to be more like Jesus! Live with the grace of the Holy Spirit, doing what Jesus did, imitating and loving like Him! We can accomplish more when we do. I know I did!
