Christ’s rebuke of the Pharisees was harsh. But these same lips had also spoken the Beatitudes and invited the weary and burdened to come to Him!
Woe unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites.
~Matthew 23:14
Jesus is love and compassion, but He also likes to call out the hypocrisy! He it my type of person for sure. I see so much of the same today. Especially from the liberal left, they do the same as the priests and Pharisees, and scribes do, most elitist thinking their way is the best, but are hypocrites. Like with killing babies and abortion, they care more about saving rescue dogs than babies. They say they are for science but cannot say what a women is, that only a woman can have a baby, and they cannot even define when a new life is formed in the womb, so much for their science. They say they do not like book bans, yet, if they do not agree with your point of view, they cancel you instead of discussing and talking about differing beliefs. Priests today are the same way, they can be so pious giving such a nice homily, but then they cannot even look at you, or they ignore, avoid, are so indifferent with their own parishioners. They do not practice what they priest like the liberal left today, they say they are for Jesus, but you cannot talk about God, Jesus, the Bible or church and they disregard law and order and make so many excuses for sin and hate, they hate so much, like the Pharisees did to Jesus in His time 2000 years ago.
The Mornings With God App today said, "We usually see the gentle side of Christ’s character and teaching. He is compassionate toward the suffering and sorrowful. He is so gentle that He won’t break a bruised reed or extinguish a smoldering wick. But here, we see Him in a stern and severe light. He speaks to the Pharisees with sharp denunciation. They taught God’s truths, but they didn’t live them. They made a great show of piety, but it was only for the sake of public appearance. Christ’s rebuke of the Pharisees was harsh. But these same lips had also spoken the Beatitudes and invited the weary and burdened to come to Him. Christ is both holy and loving. He welcomes those who come to Him with repentance, but He condemns hypocrisy. In the last verses of this chapter, we see both sides. He rebukes Jerusalem for killing the prophets and rejecting God’s messengers, but then He speaks of His desire to gather the people in love, though they refused." While we all need to live with compassion, love, and mercy like Jesus did and talks about, sometimes we have to call out the hate and hypocrisy. I know I do. I do not like the woke ideology and hate today from the left, they make so many excuses for sin and hate, using violence, protest, cancel culture, and indifference to treat people they do not agree with. Just so many excuses for sin and hate, trying to justify it as something right, when they are just being slaves for Satan like the Therians of today are, they have allowed the demons to possess them, trying to normalize hate, hypocrisy, indifference, and oftentimes favoring animals over human beings. Jesus was human too, He lived here among us, He saw all we see today, the hate and hypocrisy still exist and we need to call it out, but also show love, compassion, mercy, and be like Jesus, following Him, reflecting, forgiving, imitating, and loving like Him!
