Jesus chose 12 disciples to drive out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them! Now it is our turn!
Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two
and gave them authority over unclean spirits.
He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick
–no food, no sack, no money in their belts.
They were, however, to wear sandals but not a second tunic.
He said to them,
"Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave from there.
Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you,
leave there and shake the dust off your feet
in testimony against them."
So they went off and preached repentance.
The Twelve drove out many demons,
and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.

Jesus chose 12 disciples to drive out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them! While Jesus heals, cures, drives out demons, multiplies food, and even raises the dead back to life, He gave these powers to His disciples to do the same, they had His powers too, because they believed! Do you? We too have this power as well. We can heal others. We can use prayer and touch others and make a difference too. Many saints over the history of time have proven to have miraculous powers too, to heal. Prayer is powerful! Belief in Jesus also has powers! We can see in today's Gospel reading the power Jesus gave and instructed the disciples in being sent out o drive out demons and cure the sick. Just more miracles from God! What a blessing! Now it is our turn!
